DAL GOSHT
Ingredients:
Chana dal - 1 cup
Imly Juice - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp.
Oil- 1/2 tsp.
Green chilli 2 whole (optional)
Onions 2 medium
1/2
tsp. ginger paste
1 tbsp. garlic paste
Tomatoes - 4 finely chopped
Red Pepper - 3 tsp.(optional)
Ground Zeera - 2 tsp.
Mutton or Beef - 1 to 1 1/2 lb.
Method:
Fry onions in oil until golden brown. Add in mutton or beef
with ginger and garlic and fry for 5 minutes. Add in
finely chopped tomatoes, with salt, zeera, and red pepper.
Add
2 cups of water and allow meat to get almost tender.
Add dal
with one tsp. Haldi. Cook till dal is tender.
Add imly juice andgreen
chillies. Cover and cook on low for 5 - 10 minutes.
LENTILS
Ingredients:
8 oz red, black or green lentils.
2 tsp. tomato sauce.
2 medium sized onions.
6 tbls. cooking oil
1/4 tsp.
ginger paste.
1/2 tsp. garlic paste.
1 tbsp curry powder.
1/2 tsp.Salt.
Method:
Fry onions in oil till golden brown. Add 2 1/2 cups of water
and lentils. Cook
for 10 minutes on low/medium heat. If they start sticking to
the bottom of the pan, add more water.
Add all the spices above, including tomato sauce and salt.
Cook till the the lentils are tender.
Enjoy it with rice or chappati.
