Indian and Pakistani cooking demands a wide range of pots and pans
which is not used in any other genre of cooking. The most commonly
used are:
Degchi, Pateela, Handi and Deg - All are Pots in different sizes and
shapes but not with very thin bottoms.
Kadhai is a deep frying pan similar to a Chinese Wok.
Chimta is a tong.
Belan is a rooling pin and Patla is the wooden platform to roll chapattis,
parathas, puris etc.
Masala Dani is the spice box which contains dry spices.
Sil and Batta is used to grind fresh spices like ginger, garlic and
other pastes.
